Jerry Hubble Announces Retirement from Mesa

Jerry Hubble, Mesa Associates, Inc.’s long-time Corporate Safety Manager, announced he would be retiring on July 7, 2023. Jerry’s professional career started after graduating from Virginia Tech with a BS in Aerospace and Ocean Engineering, followed by a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee Space Institute. Jerry’s accomplishments include attaining a professional engineer’s license, professional publications, work with Arnold Research, and a twenty-eight-year career at the Tennessee Valley Authority in the power generation area, where he first retired. Anyone that knows Jerry knows he cannot sit still long, so after a short retirement from TVA, he began his second career of fourteen years at Mesa. For the last seven years, Jerry has been Mesa’s corporate safety manager and was responsible for refocusing Mesa on the importance of safety. As a direct result of Jerry’s efforts, Mesa has had record-breaking low EMRs, recordable injuries, and incidents over his tenure. He will be greatly missed here at Mesa, but we all wish him and his wife a very happy retirement.
