Mesa Associates, Inc. recently completed a project to support a utility client’s asset management program by providing data analytics services for the continuous evaluation of distribution system outages. The Mesa team provided data preparation services, an interactive user interface, and AI-based visuals to deliver valuable insights into previously unutilized data.
This combination of multiple data analytic services enabled a thorough analysis of not only the data provided, but also of the data validity and the associated collection methods. The client was able to quantify previous investments, target problematic areas of their distribution system, and identify decencies in the collection methods, giving them the ability to establish clear and actionable tasks from the results of the data study.
