Mesa Associates, Inc. recently provided engineering services for a reconductor project for a large electric utility. The objective was to reconductor and upgrade five miles of failing distribution lines from 2/0 Aluminum Conductors to 4/0 Aluminum Conductors. To manage the project scope and schedule, the Mesa team separated the project into five separate phases and encountered switches, regulators, capacitors, and reclosers along the entire route. Construction for this project was completed in June 2023 which will help provide a reliable and resilient system to the local area now and into the future.
