TVA and Mesa recently partnered to create a solution to fight the deterioration of Hibbs Island and to ensure the stability of the re-regulating weir. If a solution had not been found, Hibbs Island would eventually disappear and the weir’s functionality could be at risk. This could damage the integrity of river ecosystems and impair the function of the hydroelectric facility.
