Hurricane Sally caused a 20-foot storm surge which flooded and damaged a large utility company’s basement elevation encompassing a large amount of electrical equipment beyond repair. Mesa’s multi-discipline team provided engineering and design services for the storm restoration of the affected plant. Our team was able to redesign the damaged equipment with new updated equipment, and provide commissioning support for the equipment along with a goal of restarting four generating units to begin producing power. This project required Mesa to deliver a detailed electrical design for the new station service, protective relay programming, and on-site commissioning and startup services on a fast track basis.
