Mesa’s Power Delivery T&D Support Services Department recently provided Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) photography and inspection services for a major electric utility company in the Northeast area of the United States. Using UAS capabilities to inspect and photograph transmission lines and structures, high resolution images of deficiencies were captured and georeferenced. Then, the deficiencies were prioritized and reported back to the client. Teams of two were deployed working together to identify potential problems both at the pole top and at ground level. Detailed inspection reports and photographs were delivered to the client for the T&M project when it was completed in 2018 and a second inspection project has started in 2019.
The T&D Support Services Department is part of the Power Delivery Transmission and Distribution Business Unit. These Associates are equipped to provide various support services including siting and routing, survey, realty, right-of-way acquisition, and Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) services.
